Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Add the car you bought and you can see everyone else's prices. Later we may offer optional paid extras.
Which cars does it cover?
Any car, new or used, model year 2000 or later, bought since January 2020. If the same car is sold again later, its sales link up, like a house's sale history.
How is this different from price guides?
Price guides estimate what a car should cost. We show what buyers actually paid for that trim, in that state, that month, including taxes, fees, and add-ons.
Why do you ask for my VIN?
It proves the car exists, fills in the make, model, and year for you, and makes sure each car is only reported once per sale, so no one can flood the data with made-up deals. It's stored scrambled and never shown.
How do you keep the numbers honest?
Every VIN is checked against NHTSA's records, each sale counts once, and reports far from the rest are held for review. Document verification comes next.
Doesn't this hurt dealers?
Dealers still set their prices, and they already see thousands of deals. We give buyers the same view. Buyers already trade these numbers on Reddit and forums; we put them in one place.
I haven't bought a car yet. Can I see prices?
Yes. Every car shows its safety, running cost and recalls, and the median price once 5 buyers have shared. Add a car you've bought to see each deal.
